Top things to adopt if you want a healthy hair
If you have some or most of your biological hair here are some tips for keeping your hair healthy!
Making sure your hair is as healthy is more than just choosing the perfect hair product you use.
1.GO NATURAL
We need rest, so does your hair!
Rest from the harmful effects of shampoo, hair dye, conditioner, hair extensions and all other hair products.
YES! Even hair extensions!
- Let you hair air-dry
- Avoid heated styling products
- stop using tight headband and ponytails
In other words, let your hair chill a little!
2. No to daily use of heating tools
BE SMART!
For those who have biological hair, and blow dry it everyday, make sure that you are using a cooler setting and lower velocity it will take a little bit longer, but a little more care and time will be beneficial.
If you plan to curl or straighten your hair with a hot wand or iron, use a protective spray beforehand.
Using hair extensions (tape, glue and even clip in extensions) can seriously damage your biological hair over time. I suggest trying a hair topper instead!
Regular haircut is a must!
It ensures minimal split ends or breakage!
4. Say NO to Hot Showers
We all love hot showers, especially after a very tiring day!
But our hair and scalp don't love it as much as we do..
It dries it out the hair, washes out the hair color faster than cold water.
While a cold shower might not sound ideal, shower with lukewarm instead—as a bonus, it’s also better for your skin.
When washing a wig or topper we always suggest washing them with cold water!
There are many ways on how you can take care of your hair and this is just some of them, try at least one that you think that might fit your schedule.
Even though I am completely bald right now, I have had alopecia areata since age 3 and I have tried everything possible to care for my biological hair as long as I could before it all fell out.
Right now I'm rocking the bald life with awesome wigs, but I hope that these tips can help you just a little.
